Many farmers in vidarbha region of Maharashtra committed suicide under distress due to repeated failure of crops. A large areas of vidarbha was draught prone and farmers were also not adept to modern techniques of farming. Human Metta Foundation took a proactive approach to improve the condition of farmers by giving them training.
A four days training programme from 22 nd March to 26th March 2015 was organised at Jain Irrigation, Jalgaon in which 25 farmers of Vidarbha and adjoining district of Madhya Pradesh took part. The training was given by experts in the field of horticulture, floriculture, drip irrigation and lift irrigation.
